Lake Barrington and North Barrington are similar, yet distinct, towns in northern Illinois. Boasting exceptional amenities, both are a pleasure to live in. North Barrington — the easternmost of the two — rests along Highway 12. As you may have already guessed, Lake Barrington is located along the lake that shares its name. The Commons Recreation Park provides public access to this stunning body of water. Take in even more sights of the water at Lake Barrington Shores Golf Club and at the Lake Barrington Shores Recreation Center. Away from the lake, make plans to visit Tower Lakes Fen Nature Preserve, Lake Barrington Countryside Park District, Grassy Lake Forest Preserve, and Farm Trails North Nature Preserve.
Shifting to North Barrington, locals love spending their days at the Biltmore Country Club. Featuring tennis courts, an 18-hole golf course, a beach club, and a myriad of other amenities, this is the premier club to join. The Club at Wynstone is another top-rated membership club that is a favorite among area residents.
